Fort Greene Council (FGC) is proud to announce our first-place victory at NYC Aging’s Inaugural Citywide Plant-Based Cook-Off! 🎉 Hosted at the stunning City Harvest venue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, this event brought together some of the best culinary talents across the city to celebrate the power of plant-based cooking.
Our chefs wowed the judges with a plant-based take on Jamaican Oxtail Stew, a bold and flavorful dish that stood out among the competition. Against a lineup of incredible culinary creations, FGC took home the top prize, proving that nutritious, plant-based meals can be just as rich, hearty, and satisfying as their traditional counterparts. 🔥🍛
A huge thank you to NYC Aging Commissioner Lorraine Cortez-Vazquez for organizing such an inspiring event. This cook-off showcased the creativity and dedication of chefs citywide, highlighting the importance of accessible, healthy meals for older adults and communities throughout New York City.
Relive the excitement with our video recap of the day’s highlights, and stay tuned—because we’re already gearing up to bring the heat again next year! 🌟💚
