As we come together to honor the hard work and contributions of all workers this Labor Day, Fort Greene Council is thrilled to share a glimpse of the incredible celebration held at our Grace Agard-Harewood Older Adult Club!
This year, our older adults brought the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean islands right here to Brooklyn with a dazzling Caribbean Carnival! The event was a spectacular display of culture and community, featuring colorful costumes, lively music, and joyful dancing that captured the essence of Caribbean heritage.
The energy was infectious as our participants paraded in traditional attire, celebrating the diverse cultures that make up our community. From the rhythms of soca and reggae to the vibrant hues of the carnival costumes, every moment was filled with the joy and excitement of the islands.
This celebration is a testament to the creativity and vitality of our older adults, who continue to inspire us with their passion for life and culture. We are proud to provide a space where our older adults can connect, celebrate, and share their rich cultural traditions with the wider community.
We invite you to watch the exclusive video footage of our Caribbean Carnival celebration and experience the magic for yourself! Join us in celebrating the diversity and strength of our community, not just on Labor Day, but every day.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to all who participated. Your energy and enthusiasm continue to make Fort Greene Council a place of joy, connection, and cultural pride.
Happy Labor Day, and here’s to many more celebrations to come!
